Change 7 - Organize Closets
->
I have decided to organize my closets. I have two closets - a small one in our master bedroom and an even smaller one at the end of our hallway (which I share with several items for our new baby).
Our house is a traditional ranch-style home, with small closets and limited storage space. Right now, I have shoes in two different places, clothes stuffed in drawers, and boxes of golf balls stacked on top of old magazines. I am a pretty organized person, but this closet-clutter is getting on my nerves. I’ll begin by getting rid of old clothes (and donating to the local goodwill) and then I’ll work on building a better system for organizing my stuff. It will take a few hours to do a ‘basic’ clean and a few days to fully implement the new organization system.

Change 6 - Organize Email
I have decided to organize my email. Currently, I have several email accounts and I need to consolidate and eliminate a few of them. The ones that I choose to leave active need to be purged of old posts and contacts. I also plan to spend a few minutes, each day, maintaining an empty inbox.
Email is one of those modern ‘mixed-blessings’. I love then convenience of email, but I hate the constant clutter. My goal is to create two lists of contacts - one for personal contacts and the other for business contacts. I also plan to forward several email accounts to one, catch-all account. Hopefully, over the next few days, I can create a better system than the one I have now, and then use that system to better organize my life.

Change 5 - Giving Up Candy
I have decided to give up candy. I love candy, but I eat too much of it. I will no longer eat chips, candy bars, sweets, or sugary foods.
Just like I did with the sodas - I’m going ‘cold turkey’. I’ll replace the candy with fruits and nuts. Clearly, for someone who likes to eat while he drives, giving up candy will be a challenge. But, I want to protect my teeth, lose weight, and avoid diabetes, I need to get rid of the candy.
The only exceptions I’ll make will be cakes and other deserts during the holiday season or during a birthday celebration.
